Disney movies have black bars on the screen because they are often produced in a wider aspect ratio, such as 2.39:1, which is wider than the standard 16:9 aspect ratio of most TVs. The black bars, also known as letterboxing, are used to maintain the original aspect ratio of the film and prevent cropping or distortion of the image. This allows viewers to see the movie as it was intended to be seen by the filmmakers. **
